Uganda Results 2013/2014:

* Salama SHIELD Foundation Uganda reached over 10,000 people with health services – Health Counselling & Testing (HCT) Clinics in the communities of Lyantonde and Rakai districts

* Over 2700 Information, Education & Counselling (IEC) materials were distributed among communities towards behavioural change as part of our HIV/AIDS programming

* 50 couple counsellors were trained in HIV/AIDS support services

* Over 4,000 youths participated in sports activities at the community development centre to enable one-on-one counselling and skills development in reproductive health, entrepreneurship

* 50 Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) households were provided with enabling resources to improve the quality of their life

* 50 Orphan and other Vulnerable Children (OVC) caretakers were trained in animal management towards improving the quality of life for the children they take care of

* Over 900 vulnerable women were provided with loans in Lyantonde and Rakai districts, enabling them access to basic financial services

* 87 women groups were provided with training and sensitisation in savings, identification and management of income generation activities

* 168 women were trained in making energy saving stoves towards adoption and utilization of environmentally friendly technologies. This is a transferrable skill and will over time benefit many more women

* Outreach sessions were conducted in 60 schools to provide health information, set up and support health clubs and provision of peer support initiatives to encourage youth to stay and enjoy school

* 36 students participated in Conceptual Events, conducted towards bringing about mind-set change and individual potential discovery and growth among vulnerable youth
