Multidimensional child poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa

 

UNICEF has released a new working paper that explores methods of measuring multidimensional poverty among children in Sub-Saharan Africa. This is noteworthy because the unit of study includes individual children rather than households or families. Specific focus is on deprivations, which can include nutrition, health, water, sanitation, housing, education, information and protection from violence. Experiencing multiple deprivations simultaneously makes children particularly vulnerable.
