Help arrives for animals in Malawi’s flood-ravaged South

In Malawi, livestock are a sign of wealth and used to feed and clothe families, as well as provide income for care and school fees. Flash flooding forced families to evacuate their homes quickly and they had to leave their livestock behind as they fled to safety. Work is currently being done by the Veterinary Department of the Ministry of Agriculture to vaccinate animals and provide treatment for common ailments that result from extended water exposure.
