Uganda confirms ID of LRA leader who surrendered

The identity of a surrendered Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) commander has been verified and negotiations are currently underway to determine if he will be tried at home or at the International Criminal Court headquarters at The Hague. The LRA has been active since the 1980s and is best-known by its leader, Joseph Kony, for recruiting child soldiers and holding girls as sex slaves, as well as razing villages, raping women and amputating limbs.
